washed your hair in a sink at the Psychology building. Well, now
I can say I have! And I used Suave (sorry Suave people, I'm just a hair care product snob)....but
it was worth it. It was all in the name of science.
Last
summer I signed up for a psychological study analyzing the brain's reactions to emotional stimuli, they just are finally
getting around to it. Many questionnaires, an EEG study and next week, an fMRI (functional MRI). Here's me
with over 60 leads to my scalp so they can record my brainwaves. I got a really nice compliment that I had a good scalp
for brainwave analysis!
Nothing says "dork" better than glasses over the cap!
I had to sit in a dark room watching a screen and indicating which colors the words were shown in rather than looking at the
content. Of course, they tried to confuse me by writing "blue" in red, etc. It sometimes worked.
When the cap was removed, there was a ton of conductive gel in my hair and I had
no choice but to wash my hair.
I favorited a new video on my
youtube channel that shows induced pluripotent stem cells which were directed to become cardiac muscle cells actually
beating! Very very cool!
I'm also
trying to create a new website that flows better, allows for comments, looks less like a third grade project. I'll
let you know when it comes about. If there are any volunteers to assist me, that would be awesome!
